Tailored ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered personal stylist and wardrobe assistant. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate and improve Tailored:

• Account data — email, login method (Apple ID, Google Sign-In, or email and password).
• User-provided content — photos and text descriptions of wardrobe items, outfit or product images you upload.
• Profile data — age, occupation, style and lifestyle preferences from onboarding survey.

AI Processing: When you upload photos or request AI-generated or AI-processed images (e.g. for outfit suggestions, wardrobe analysis, item evaluation), Tailored may temporarily send the content to third-party AI providers (for instance, OpenAI or Google Gemini) under our direct business contract. These providers do not store or reuse your data beyond the processing needed to fulfil your request. All rights in the outputs are assigned to Tailored.

Device and usage data — We use Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics to understand how Tailored is used, including which features are accessed, general usage patterns, device type, OS and app performance. This information is collected in an anonymised or pseudonymised form and does not include your wardrobe photos, uploaded content, or any personally sensitive data. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics according to its standard retention period (currently up to 26 months) and is automatically deleted after that time. This data helps us improve app performance, fix issues, and understand which features are most helpful. Analytics is never used for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites. You can disable analytics at any time by contacting support at contact@tailored-to-you.com or by deleting your account.

We do not collect financial data directly. Payments are handled securely through Apple App Store and RevenueCat.

Tailored is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete it.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data only to:

• Generate outfit suggestions and wardrobe recommendations using our AI algorithms.
• Provide core app functions such as wardrobe uploads and outfit evaluations.
• Improve accuracy, performance, and detect misuse or errors.

Uploaded photos may be sent to OpenAI for temporary processing. OpenAI does not store data and assigns all rights in the outputs to Tailored. We only share user photos and text with OpenAI to generate styling recommendations, and we do not share any other personal data with AI providers. The data is not stored by OpenAI and is used exclusively to provide this core functionality. We request your consent in the App before processing your photos through external AI services.

• Show product examples or shopping links that match your preferences. If you click an external product link, that website may collect its own data under its privacy policy.

3. Third Parties We Work With

To deliver the service, Tailored relies on trusted technology partners. These providers process data strictly on our behalf and according to their own privacy and security standards.

3.1 Firebase / Google Cloud

Used for:

• Authentication
• Database and Firestore storage
• Secure file and media storage (wardrobe, outfits, items images)
• Analytics and Crashlytics

Notes:

• Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure, using UK/EU-based servers where possible
• Enforced via Firebase security rules and encryption

3.2 Cloud Run (Tailored API)

Used for:

• Running Tailored's algorithm and recommendation and styling logic
• Processing wardrobe, profile, and item-evaluation data

Notes:

• Only processes data required to deliver core app functionality
• Controlled exclusively by Tailored

3.3 OpenAI

Used for:

• Temporary processing of uploaded images or text to supplement analysis for generation of outfit suggestions, item evaluations, and styling recommendations

Notes:

• OpenAI does not store, retain, or reuse data sent through the API
• OpenAI assigns all rights in the outputs to Tailored, and content is not used for training

3.4 Google Gemini

Used for:

• Temporary processing of uploaded images or generation of new images, to support outfit suggestions, wardrobe analysis, or any other AI-assisted feature (including new product discovery)

Notes:

• Google Gemini does not store, retain, or reuse data sent through the API
• Google Gemini assigns all rights in the outputs to Tailored, and content is not used for training

3.5 RevenueCat

Used for:

• Managing subscriptions and in-app purchase entitlements

Notes:

• Tailored does not store any payment card details
• All billing is securely handled by Apple

3.6 Pinterest Integration

If you choose to connect your Pinterest account to Tailored, we access limited Pinterest data only after you explicitly authorise Tailored through Pinterest's official authorisation flow.

What we access

• We may access limited Pinterest account data made available through the Pinterest API, such as selected boards, Pins, and related inspiration content that you choose to connect to Tailored.

How we use it

• We use Pinterest-connected data only to provide services to you inside Tailored, such as understanding your style inspiration, improving outfit recommendations, helping you style clothes you already own closer to your desired style, and generating more personalised wardrobe insights and shopping guidance.

What we do not do

• We do not ask for or store your Pinterest password.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your Pinterest-connected data with third parties.
• We do not use one user's Pinterest-connected data to provide services to other users.
• We do not combine Pinterest-connected account data across different users.

Storage and retention

• Where possible, Tailored stores only the minimum derived insights needed to provide the feature, rather than permanently storing raw Pinterest content.
• If you disconnect Pinterest or delete your Tailored account, Pinterest-connected data and any related derived data associated with your account will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it by law.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EU / UK GDPR)

We process personal data under the following bases:

• Consent — for camera, photo, or media upload permissions.
• Contract — to deliver the Tailored app's core features.
• Legitimate interest — to improve and secure our services.

5. Storage and Retention

Data is stored on Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure.

We retain data only while your account is active.

You may delete your account at any time; associated data is removed or anonymised within 30 days and/or upon specific request.

When you delete your account, we permanently delete:

• your wardrobe images from Firebase Storage
• all Firestore documents linked to your user ID
• all historical recommendations and evaluations

We do not retain copies of photos or outputs after deletion.

OpenAI does not store or retain any of your data.

6. Your Rights

If you are located in the EU, UK, or another region with data-protection laws, you have rights to:

• Access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data.
• Request a copy (data portability).
• Withdraw consent at any time (this may limit functionality).

Withdrawing Consent:

Because a number of Tailored's features and functionality depend on AI-assisted analysis of your wardrobe images using proprietary logic AND third-party AI models (OpenAI), withdrawing consent to AI processing will disable features that rely on photo analysis.

Your right to withdraw consent also applies to processing via any AI provider used by Tailored (e.g. Google Gemini). Withdrawing consent will disable any features that rely on AI-assisted image generation or analysis.

You may withdraw consent at any time by updating your profile settings in the App.

You may also withdraw consent at any time by contacting support at contact@tailored-to-you.com or by deleting your account in the app.

If you withdraw consent and request data deletion, all previously uploaded images and associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of request submitted.

7. International Transfers

Some data may be processed by providers outside the EU (e.g., Google LLC or OpenAI LLC in the US). We rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect your information.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption at rest provided by Firebase and Google Cloud.
• Strict access controls enforced through Firebase Authentication and Firestore/Storage security rules.
• Limited access — only authorised processes and services can access your data in order to provide the App's features.

While we work to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Cookies

Our website (tailored-to-you.com) uses the following cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for basic site security and routing. These are set automatically and do not require consent.
• Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site (pages visited, time on site, device type). These cookies are only set after you explicitly accept via our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

You can change your cookie preference at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer. Your preference is stored in your browser's local storage and applies to this browser and device only.

We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or tracking across other websites.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as we improve our offering. If material changes occur, we will notify users via in-app notice or email.
